The injury is to his left thumb, and its status will be monitored day by day. Ideally for Bennett, he can prevent a multi-game absence and be healthy before the 2024 A-10 Tournament, which is expected to begin not long after Dayton's game Friday against VCU.

ImpactBennett will miss his first game of the season Tuesday, with Friday's regular season finale against VCU representing his next opportunity to take the court. The sophomore has been on the rise across his last 12 contests, averaging 10.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals on 51.8 percent shooting while logging 7.1 shots in 29.0 minutes per contest.
