Out for season opener Thomas (ankle) will not appear in UNLV's season opener against Alabama State on Nov. 4, Mike Grimala of the Las Vegas Sun reports. Impact Thomas suffered a rolled ankle according to head coach Kevin Kruger and the sophomore guard has been spotted in a boot this week at practice. The 6-foot-1 sophomore was electric in his freshman season with the program, tallying 13.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 0.9 steals on 34.9 minutes per game. Thomas will have his next opportunity to return Nov. 9, against Memphis, and either Jace Whiting or Brooklyn Hicks are likely to start in his place in the interim.
