Commits to Austin Peay Sharp announced Thursday via his personal Twitter that he will transfer to Austin Peay. Impact After entering the transfer portal Tuesday, Sharp drew interest from multiple Division 1 programs, including Arkansas, Missouri, Florida, UCF and Saint Louis. Instead, he will follow his former head coach Corey Gipson, as the Governors hired him after one season at the helm for Northwestern State. The 6-foot-3 senior, who spent two seasons at Missouri State before transferring to Austin Peay for the 2022-23 campaign, earned 2023 Southland Conference Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors during his lone season with the Natchitoches. Across 33 starts, Sharp averaged 19.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.9 assists on a 46.1 field goal percentage.
