Leads team in loss Mahoney recorded 19 points (7-14 FG, 3-8 3PT, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists and three steals in the close 73-72 loss to Kansas on Tuesday.

Impact Mahoney put together a season best performance, but it was not enough in the loss Tuesday. The forward had an overall good night and filled the stats sheet as he attempted to lead his Blue Jays to victory in a much anticipated matchup. After having a very rough game days prior, Mahoney was able to have a strong bounce back. He will need to have more performances like this as a veteran for Creighton to make them a known contender in a strong conference.

Returning to Creighton Mahoney withdrew his name from the 2020 NBA Draft on Saturday and will return to Creighton for his senior season, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact When Mahoney declared for the draft back in June he made the cautious choice to sign with and NCAA-certified agent, which left with the option to pull his name from draft pool. The forward will return to Omaha along with fellow rising senior Damien Jefferson in hopes of leading the Blue Jays to a Big East title and a deep NCAA Tournament run. Mahoney averaged 12 points and 3.1 rebounds as one of the first guys off the bench last season and figures to be a strong candidate to join the starting five this upcoming campaign.
