Stef Smith - Available, but didn't playSmith did not take the court Wednesday against DePaul despite the fact that he was deemed available, Kevin Connelly of Fansided reports.
ImpactSmith started the first seven games of the season for the Red Storm and was averaging 20.3 mpg leading up to Wednesday, but he ultimately didn't get off the bench in what amounted to a five-point victory. It's unknown if Smith was one of the positive tests that caused the program to shut down following it's Dec. 18 loss to Pittsburgh, but if that were the case, it would make sense for a player in his circumstances to sit due to conditioning issues despite gaining clearance. While the whole situation is a bit of a mystery for now, more clarity should arrive Saturday when St. John's takes on Providence.

Justin Champagnie - Monster game despite layoffChampagnie finished with 34 points (12-22 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 6-10 FT), 16 rebounds, one assist and three blocks across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 89-84 win over DePaul.
ImpactChampagnie missed a Dec. 18 contest while in health and safety protocol, so the last time he took the court prior to Wednesday was all the way back on Dec. 12. Still, the the third-year forward and all-Big East candidate showed absolutely no signs of rust as the Red Storm held off the Blue Demons to move to 1-0 in Big East play. Champagnie's shot volume and rebounding prowess make him one of the top fantasy assets in the nation heading into the second half of the season.
