12 boards in ugly win Mitchell amassed four points (2-6 FG), 12 rebounds and three steals across 30 minutes during Saturday's 56-46 win over Oklahoma State. Impact Mitchell had plenty of opportunities for rebounds in this rough shooting performance for both teams, as neither the Longhorns nor the Cowboys shot better than 31.5 percent from the floor Saturday. The 6-foot-8 freshman actually matched his career high for rebounds while playing his second-most minutes in a game this season. Mitchell now sits just behind senior forward Timmy Allen for Texas' lead in rebounds per game at 5.3 and 5.7, respectively. However, the freshman still ranks last among the team's starting five in points per game (7.7). It's possible Mitchell could have another strong opportunity to clean up the boards Tuesday against the Horned Frogs, who currently rank second-to-last in the Big 12 for field-goal percentage (45.5).
