Sitting with leg injury Olaniyi has missed the last five games due to what head coach Geno Ford is calling a leg injury, Ethan Tam of the Stony Brook Statesman reports. Impact Olaniyi transferred back to Stony Brook for the 2021-22 season after a one-year stint at Miami, returning to the program that helped him post career highs in scoring (18.0 ppg) and rebounding (6.5 rpg) back in 2019-20. It unfortunately sounds like he could be sidelined quite a while, as Ford was unable to provide a timetable, instead expressing hopefulness that he'll return eventually. Until then, players such as Anthony Roberts, Tykei Green and Omar Habwe will be asked to pick up the slack.
