Impact Thamba had a relatively productive outing given that he played just 18 minutes in this season-ending loss for the Bears. The 6-foot-10 senior saw his playing time shrink with reserve big man Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua available for the final 12 games of the season. Over this span, Thamba averaged 4.6 points and 3.7 boards while playing just 17.8 minutes per game despite starting each of these contests. This also marked the end of Thamba's fifth season at Baylor, thus exhausting his last remaining season of eligibility at the collegiate level.

However, Thamba has averaged just 15.8 minutes per game since reserve forward Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua returned from a knee injury over the last five contests.

It's unclear if the 6-foot-10 senior's playing time was altered by the lopsided final score or the return of fellow senior center Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua, the latter of whom played 14 minutes while making his season debut after a year-long recovery from knee surgery. Thamba averaged just 20.4 minutes while playing alongside Tchamwa Tchatchoua for much of last year, so it will be worth monitoring how Baylor splits their opportunities moving forward.

Impact It's no coincidence that in the five games Jonathan Tchmwa Tchatchoua was affected or out by his season-ending knee injury, Thamba has produced seven or more rebounds in each. The 6-10 senior has also shown an offensive aspect to his game that hadn't previously been put on display much, as he has scored in double figures three times, culminating in a season-high 18 points. Not bad considering he had been in double digits just once all last season. Thamba will need to continue carrying a massive workload if the Bears intend to make any kind of tournament run. If he goes to the bench, however, 6-9 freshman Jeremy Sochan appears to be the man taking his place.
