Finds home at South Carolina Cooper committed Wednesday to join South Carolina as a walk-on transfer from Missouri State, Wyatt A. Wheeler of the Springfield News-Leader reports. Impact Cooper bypassed his senior year of high school and reclassified as a member of the 2019 class, allowing him to join Missouri State as the program's top-ranked recruit from last year's cycle. The 6-foot-3 point guard saw an enhanced role as the campaign unfolded due to Tyrik Dixon's season-ending injury, but he largely struggled during his first taste of college ball. Over 27 appearances (five starts), Cooper averaged 1.9 points, 1.1 assists and 1.0 rebound in 12.0 minutes per game while shooting 29.2 percent from the floor. He'll likely have to sit out the 2020-21 season unless the NCAA extends him a waiver for immediate eligibility.
