Joseph Hunter - Getting season-ending thumb surgery Hunter is scheduled to undergo thumb surgery next week and will miss the remainder of the season, Robert Kuwada of The Fresno Bee reports. Impact The loss of Hunter is a major one for Fresno State, as the 6-foot-5, 190-pound guard was named the Mountain West's preseason Freshman of the Year. He didn't suit up in any of the Bulldogs' first three games, presumably on account of the thumb injury. Hunter will take a redshirt for 2022-23 and should have four years of eligibility left to use beginning with the 2023-24 campaign.
