Leads Tide's comeback effortJones had a team-high 18 points (7-16 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT) to go along with 12 rebounds, four assists and two blocks in Tuesday's come-from-behind victory over Furman.
ImpactJones has steadily been producing for a fast-paced Nate Oats offense, as he's now leading the team in scoring (13.7 ppg) and rebounding (7.3 rpg). What's unique about his effort Tuesday was that he spent time down the stretch handling the ball as a point forward, due largely to point guard Jahvon Quinerly's struggles on defense. Jones now has a pair of assists or more in each of his last five games, making him a solid rotisserie option as a 6-8 forward.

Limited due to defensive effortQuinerly was limited to just 17 minutes in Tuesday's 83-80 victory over Furman, collecting three points (1-2 FG, 1-1 3Pt) and three assists.
ImpactAccording to Michael Casagrande of the Brimingham News, Quinerly didn't see the court much due to his defensive efforts. After the game, he drew criticism from coach Nate Oats for not closing hard enough, allowing the Paladins to have sustained success from beyond the arc. In Quinerly's place, backup point guard Joshua Primo saw 22 minutes of action, but down the stretch, it was forward Herb Jones doing quite a bit of the ball handling. It will certainly be interesting to see if Quinerly can redeem himself in another tough, non-conference game Saturday against Western Kentucky.
