Dante Harris - Likely out for opener Harris (personal) remains unavailable for the Hoyas in advance of Tuesday's season opener against Coppin State, John Fanta of Fox Sports reports.

Impact Given Harris has not been with the team due to personal matters, the likelihood of him suiting up Tuesday appears slim. It's a major blow for the Hoyas given he's the team's leading returning scorer and has been the primary point guard in each of the last two seasons. In his stead, Duquesne transfer Primo Spears and perhaps three-star freshman Denver Anglin could see some extra run at PG.

Akok Akok - 13 points in scrimmage Akok had 13 points in a scrimmage against Temple, Jeff Goodman of Stadium reports.

Impact Akok has struggled with injuries throughout his career, but when on the floor the talent is apparent. His best statistical season came as a freshman in 2019-20 when he averaged 5.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per contest. Akok is a force in the paint on defense and can also stretch the floor on offense. Now fully healthy from a foot and Achilles injury, Akok should be a big impact player for a Hoyas team hoping to rebound in 2022-23.

Amir Spears - Nears double-double in scrimmage Spears had 13 points and nine assists in a scrimmage against Temple, Jeff Goodman of Stadium reports.

Impact Spears is competing for Dante Harris for the starting point guard position. It appears Spears got the better of Harris in this scrimmage as he did a good job running the offense and distributing the ball. Spears had a solid freshman season with Duquesne in which he averaged 12.9 points, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest.

Brandon Murray - 30 points in scrimmage Murray went for 30 points in a scrimmage against Temple, Jeff Goodman of Stadium reports.

Impact Murray was a big pickup in the offseason for the Hoyas. He averaged 10.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.2 three-pointers, and 1.1 steals per contest with LSU last season. Murray has seemingly already taken well to the Georgetown offense and should be a dynamic player this season for a team looking to be much more competitive in the Big East.

Impact As a true freshman, Mohammed gave his all to what was a highly disappointing Georgetown team. Starting in all 31 games, the forward logged 13.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists. He also played major minutes, averaging 32.4 per game. Mohammed will need to get a little more efficient as a scorer (37.9 percent from the field), but overall the talented big man should garner some NBA attention.
