Leaving Lobos New Mexico announced Tuesday that Muscadin has left the Lobos basketball program, Geoff Grammer of the Albuquerque Journal reports. Impact Muscadin is leaving the Lobos after appearing in just 12 games this season after arriving as a transfer from Kansas. The 6-foot-10, 230-pound center started in nine of the Lobos' first 11 games, but he was moved to the bench during Sunday's 90-72 loss to SMU, playing just eight minutes. The demotion to the second unit likely prompted Muscadin to pursue options elsewhere, and while he shouldn't have much difficulty finding another opportunity in Division I, he may not be eligible to compete in 2022-23 since he's already transferred one time in his career. For that reason, Muscadin could be a candidate to head to the JuCo ranks in 2022-23 before returning to Division I in 2023-24, when he would have up to two years of eligibility to use.
