Scores 15 off bench Bezhanishvili logged 15 points (7-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt), four rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal over 25 minutes in Wednesday's 82-69 loss to Baylor.
Impact Bezhanishvili has come off the bench in each of the first four games of the season and was held in check over the first three contests. However, he shot 70 percent from the floor against the Bears while playing a season-high 25 minutes. The 6-foot-9 center is averaging 7.5 points and 3.8 rebounds over 18.5 minutes per game to begin the year.

On bench to begin season Bezhanishvili isn't starting Wednesday's season opener against North Carolina A&T.
Impact Bezhanishvili served mainly as a starter during the 2019-20 season, but he came off the bench over the final several games of the year. He'll remain in a bench role for the beginning of this season, as Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn will each start for the Illini in the frontcourt.
