Contributing well on glassSantos-Silva had eight points (4-10 FG), six rebounds, one block and a steal in the blowout of Grambling on Sunday.
ImpactSantos Silva is leading the Red Raiders on the glass this season as expected at 8.2 RPG. He also has a pair of double-doubles through the first five games. Santos-Silva shouldn't see more than 25 minutes a night, but will rebound at a very efficient rate when in the game. The Red Raiders will face Abilene Christian on Wednesday.

Six steals off benchBurnett came off the bench and had 12 points (2-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 7-7 FT), six steals, three rebounds, and three assists in a rout of Grambling on Sunday.
ImpactBurnett was able to do all of that in just 15 minutes of action. Texas Tech is incredibly deep this season, but playing good defense is an easy way to move up in coach Chris Beard's rotation. Burnett is the highest rated recruit in Texas Tech history. He's gotten just 16.4 minutes per game through the first five contests, but that might change as the season roles on and he keeps getting more and more comfortable.

Double-double in blowoutEdwards had a strong game against Grambling on Sunday posting 13 points (4-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 11 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and two blocks.
ImpactEdwards' 13 points led a very balanced scoring effort for the Red Raiders. The 6-4 junior has had a nice start to the season, as he is averaging 10.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.8 three-pointers through the first five games. Edwards should continue to be the secondary options offensively most nights behind Mac McClung.

Helped off court with ankle injuryShannon rolled his ankle and needed to be helped off the court Sunday against Grambling, Carlos Silva Jr. of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports.
ImpactShannon recorded his second-lowest minutes total of the season, but this time it was due to injury. It seems as if X-rays didn't turn back any concerning results, but the sophomore wing should still be considered a game-time call for Wednesday's matchup against Abilene Christian. Shannon has started all five games for the Red raiders this season, averaging 11.2 points across 22.2 minutes. Should he be forced to miss time, the Red Raiders would look to the likes of Jamarius Burton, Avery Benson and Tyreek Smith for more minutes.
