Still likely weeks away Gantt (abdomen) remains likely a week or two from returning, if he is indeed able to return this season, James Henderson of Inside Pack Sports reports. Impact The news comes from an interview with Kevin Keatts that took place on Jan. 10 in which the NC State head coach game Gantt a 2-to-3 week timetable. The messages were mixed, of course, as Keatts noted that "he's close" while also mentioning "there's a possibility that it just won't happen the entire year." This development came days after a Jan. 8 matchup against Clemson in which Gantt was spotted warming up with the team (per Jonas Pope IV of the Charlotte News and Observer). Even if Gantt receives the proper medical clearance, there will likely be several conditioning hurdles to pass after not appearing in a game all season. While Gantt is more of a power forward than a center, the Wolfpack have been in desperate need of post helps since Manny Bates underwent season-ending surgery. Ebenezer Dowuona and Jaylon Gibson have worked to fill in, but NC State ranks No. 270 in the nation in defensive rebounding rate entering Tuesday's slate of games, so it's clear there's plenty more work to be done.
