Immediately eligible at ASU Woods was granted a waiver from the NCAA on Thursday, making him eligible immediately at Arizona State, Doug Haller of The Athletic reports. Impact There's still a question of whether or not Woods chooses to redshirt this season, but head coach Bobby Hurley is willing to leave it in the hands of the player. Woods brings plenty of experience to the table in the form of 88 collegiate starts, and he averaged double figures in scoring in each of his three seasons with Portland State. The Sun Devils already have a primary ball handler in all Pac-12 guard Remy Martin, who has already confirmed his intention to play out his senior year in 2020. That's not to say the two couldn't share a backcourt, or that Woods could provide quality bench minutes, but his opportunities may simply be greater in 2021, especially once the COVID-19 pandemic has (hopefully) passed.
