Mark Freeman - Goes down with ankle injuryFreeman suffered an ankle injury after logging 11 minutes in Wednesday's loss to Wisconsin, Jim Benson of The Pantagraph reports.

ImpactWhile the scoring has been inconsistent this year for the Tennessee State transfer, Freeman is still considered a steady rotation piece after starting 13 of the first 14 games this season for the Redbirds. More importantly is the fact that he has served as the primary ball-handler, leading the team in assists and 3.9 apg. With Howard Fleming (undisclosed) also out for the contest, Antonio Reeves stepped up with 23 points and three assists, but it wasn't enough to pull off the upset in overtime. Freeman will have to be reevaluated in advance of Sunday's road matchup against Valpo.

Still, the team put up a valiant effort in taking a ranked Wisconsin team to overtime, helped out by 23 points from Antonio Reeves and another 22 from Sy Chatman. Fleming's status is uncertain heading into a Jan. 2 matchup at Valpo.

ImpactDavis missed a Dec. 15 contest due to COVID protocol and the team subsequently had games canceled, so Wednesday was effectively his first real action since Dec. 11. It's no surprise his shot was a bit rusty as a result, but his overall volume and production in ancillary categories still made for a solid fantasy day. It was effectively a much-needed tune-up game before a road contest against Purdue on January 3, and while the Badgers will be underdogs there, Davis remains one of the top fantasy guards in the conference heading into Big Ten play.
