Given that the right MCL sprain of his knee has kept him from playing since Jan. 5, the 6-foot-8 big man could be in store for a lighter role than usual in his return. Over his first 14 outings of the season, Thompson averaged 8.4 points, 6.1 boards, 1.4 blocks, 1.1 assists and 0.8 steals in 22.9 minutes per contest.
