ImpactKalscheur and the entire Cyclones team struggled against the Hawkeyes pressure on the defensive perimeter, as his team shot just 3-of-22 from beyond the arc Thursday. The senior guard has historically struggled with three-point shooting over his five-year career, and this has continued in the 2022-23 campaign by converting just 25 percent of his 5.3 three-point tries per game. Kascheur's scoring inefficiency has also extended to his overall field-goal percentage (33.3). Nevertheless, he should continue to play a prominent role off the bench against McNeese State on Saturday.

ImpactJones had the best all-around stat line of any Iowa State player Thursday, finishing as the team's leading rebounder and tying Tamin Lipsey for the second-most points. This also marked Jones' first double-double performance since transferring from Denver ahead of the 2021-22 campaign. He has also scored at least 10 points in six of his last seven games. While the 6-foot-10 forward now ranks third on the team in scoring (8.2), his relatively limited minutes (18.2) and field-goal tries per contest (6.7) while likely cap his scoring to the low teens.

ImpactHolmes was unable to provide any spark to the Cyclones' woeful shooting performance, as he was held to single-digit scoring for just the second time this season. Over nine starts in 2022-23, the St. Bonaventure transfer has been the only Iowa State to average double-digit points (13.9). However, he's also shot a career-low 36.9 percent from the floor while attempting a career-high 13.6 field goals per game. Holmes' prominent shooting role alongside fellow senior guard Gabe Kalscheur should continue to net him a respectable scoring average moving forward.

Though one could expect Rebraca to be a double-double threat on most nights, Thursday represented his first since the third game of the season. Should Rebraca make a habit of scoring at a high rate, his value can certainly improve.
