Impact Prior reports had characterized Mobley's injury as a fractured nose, but clearing the concussion protocol may be the bigger concern for the big man at this juncture. While Mobley was sidelined for a second consecutive contest, the Trojans received a big game from Drew Peterson, who stepped up to provide 27 points (9-13 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 12 rebounds, five blocks, four assists and one steal in 38 minutes. Peterson should continue to benefit from heightened usage on offense if Mobley remains out for USC's next game Thursday versus Washington.

Mobley would likely wear the mask as a precautionary measure to prevent further injury to his nose. This comes as very positive news for USC as Mobley is the team's leader in both scoring and rebounds this season. The big man is averaging 14.7 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while shooting 39.4 percent from three-point range.

USC ultimately was able to collect itself in the second half, with Chavez Goodwin seeing a usage bump, and freshman Harrison Hornery logging a surprise nine points and six rebounds over a season-high 14 minutes. Mobley should be considered questionable for Saturday's matchup against UCLA for the time being, and if he does return, it will presumably be with a mask to protect his broken nose.
