Impact Samake has entered the transfer portal as a graduate student, and he will look to get a fresh start with a new team next season. The 6-foot-8 sophomore has appeared in just two games across the last two seasons as the result of a lingering knee issue. Samake appeared in 27 games during the 2020-21 season, averaging 2.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.5 blocks on 9.5 minutes per game.

Sidelined most of 2022-23 Samake hasn't appeared since Dec. 21, which was his first action since missing all of the 2021-22 season with a knee injury (per the Des Moines Register).

Impact While Samake was productive (eight points, seven rebounds) in his only appearance of the season, it doesn't appear the 6-8 forward has been healthy enough to contribute since. Drake has still been a top-5 defensive rebounding team in the country without his services, due largely to contributions from Darnell Brodie (7.3 rpg), Garrett Sturtz (6.3 rpg) and Tucker DeVries (5.6 rpg). While Samake continues to support the squad from the sidelines, it seems unlikely he'll be able to contribute in the postseason.
