Impact Brockington was able to just edge out James Akinjo for the award. The Penn State transfer was the catalyst for an incredible turnaround for a team that won just two games last season. Brockington averaged 17.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game to put the Cyclones back into the NCAA Tournament. Iowa State will open the Big 12 Tournament on Thursday against Texas Tech.
