Granted waiver Tryon (not injury related) was granted a waiver from the NCAA and will be immediately eligible to play during the 2020-21 season, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Samford is slated to open the season at home Wednesday, and Tryon will be eligible to play for the entire season after transferring from Portland. The senior averaged 7.1 points and 5.3 rebounds over 23.8 minutes per game with Portland last year. He should play a fairly prominent role with the Bulldogs now that he's eligible to play.
