Impact Jones will miss his fourth straight game, as the guard has yet to play this season. The Long Beach transfer averaged 12.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.8 steals last year. He figures to work his way into the rotation upon his return.

The 6-foot-5 senior averaged 12.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.8 steals across 34 games with Long Beach State last season, and he will look to make an impact with the Sooners when healthy.

Impact Oklahoma's 2024-25 team is expected to begin its regular season Monday. However, the matchup may not include Jones, who is trying to recover from a tweaked back. OU's head coach Porter Moser said he "doubts" his Long Beach State transfer will be available Monday. That would mean Moser must find a likely replacement for Jones in the Sooners' starting lineup, considering he was part of their primary perimeter players for multiple scrimmages during preseason.

More importantly, the sophomore wing is the reigning Big West Defensive Player of the Year, and had picked up 12 steals over his last five games. Jones had a respectable performance in the box score when the Beach lost to UCLA 93-69 back on Nov. 11, and while the team once again finds itself as big road underdogs Wednesday against USC, the potential return of Jones would be a noteworthy boost.
