Impact Small continues to come up huge for the Mountaineers, topping 20 points for the fifth time this season. It was also the fifth time Small has contributed at least five boards and five assists. The senior transfer from Oklahoma State has been one of the best offensive guards in the country during the non-conference season, averaging 19.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.6 steals while also adding 2.2 steals on the other end of the floor across 35.3 minutes per contest.

The 6'3" senior struggled with his shot Friday but still managed to contribute across the board, including contributing four steals on the defensive end. Small and fellow transfer Tucker DeVries make for a solid one-two punch and will likely serve as the lynchpins if West Virginia is to make some waves in the Big 12 this season.
