Scores season high Saturday Tyson totaled 27 points (11-15 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds, one block and one steal over 36 minutes during Saturday's 78-72 victory over West Virginia. Impact Tyson logged double-digit made field goals for the first time this season, leading him to also score more than 20 points for the first time in his 26 starts during the 2022-23 campaign. The 6-foot-7 sophomore's season-best performance also helped Texas Tech secure just its fourth conference win of the 2022-23 season. Tyson has been one of the Red Raiders' most productive players this season with 10.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, and he's averaged 16.4 points and 6.0 rebounds per game across his past five outings. He's also outperformed team-leading scorer Kevin Obanor over this span, as the latter has posted 10.8 points and 5.8 boards per contest during that stretch. Tyson will look to keep up this increased production across the team's final four regular-season games, starting with Tuesday's road game versus Oklahoma.
