Hopeful to return this season Coach Archie Miller appears hopeful that Brunk (back) can return at some point in the 2020-21 season, Zach Osterman of the Indianapolis Star reports. Impact Brunk underwent surgery to address a nagging back problem last Wednesday and is considered "out indefinitely." The issue first flared up in preseason practices, and while Brunk was able to return to practice in full as the season approached, the back flared up again and sidelined the fifth-year senior. Following surgery, Miller said that "I don't think it's the end of the question that he's done for this year, in terms of will he be out all year? I don't know." While Brunk's absence is almost certain to continue a few more weeks, the door is still open for a return that would seemingly happen just as the postseason approaches.
