Benched in second half Coach Jerry Stackhouse indicated that Wright was benched in the second half of Tuesday's loss against Kentucky for "lackluster effort," Aria Gerson of The Tennessean reports. Impact Wright got his second straight start, but ended the game playing just 18 minutes and scoring two points. Over the previous six games Wright was putting up 14.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.8 three-pointers, and 1.0 steals in 26.7 minutes per contest. Coach Stackhouse is clearly trying to challenge his senior, who has largely struggled this season after an impressive junior campaign that saw him average 12.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 three-pointers. We'll see if Wright remains in the starting five or if Stackhouse looks to give some of Vanderbilt's younger players a shot.
