Back from wrist surgery James (wrist) started and had nine points (3-10 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 0-1 FT), five rebounds and two steals across 23 minutes in Saturday's 103-62 exhibition victory over Lenior-Rhyne. Impact James underwent wrist surgery in late-April and little has been reported about his progress since, but his presence in the starting lineup of a low-stakes exhibition suggests the third-year player is ready to go without limitations. At a glance, it also appears that he may have earned back the starting job he lost towards the end of last season, though it's likely wrist and ankle injuries affected his play down the stretch. Still, James had a career-best 8.0 ppg, even though his three-point shooting percentage dropped nearly six percentage points to 30.8 percent. He'll look to build on that in his third year with the program.
