The star point guard has been relied on as the go-to scorer in close matchups especially as of late, and this should continue to be the case in equally tough games moving forward. The 6-foot-5 senior and the squad will now head to Johnnies turf on Friday for the semifinals of the Big East Tournament. This game should be an entertaining rematch less than a week after Marquette lost in an overtime buzzer-beater to St. John's, where Jones dropped an impressive 32 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

Impact Jones played nearly every minute of the OT affair and saw his highest number of field-goal attempts while matching his season-best scoring total. Unfortunately it was not enough for the Golden Eagles, who have stumbled a bit down the stretch, losing back-to-back games and three of their last five to close out the regular season. Marquette will carry the No. 5 seed into the Big East tournament and will open up Thursday with a matchup against Xavier, though the team is still tournament-bound regardless of the result.

Impact Jones produced one of his better scoring games against the Huskies, eclipsing 20 points for the first time in seven games. The senior guard was unable to get his three-point shots to fall, but he made up for it from the close range with a 53.3 shooting percentage from inside of the arc. Jones' efforts could start to be reeling back from a recent-game slump, and he'll be relied on heavily on a tough road-game tear against St. John's on Tuesday and then Creighton next Saturday.
