Impact Furphy will somewhat participate in Kansas' team practice Tuesday to prepare for the exhibition game scheduled Wednesday. Shin splints caused his DNP when KU hosted Illinois during their preseason matchup Sunday.

Nicolas Timberlake - Comes off bench in exhibition game Timberlake came off the bench and had four points (2-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt), two rebounds, and one assist in Sunday's exhibition loss to Illinois.
Impact Timberlake was thought to be the favorite to start at shooting guard this season for Kansas, but freshman Elmarko Jackson took that honor on Sunday and played 26 minutes to Timberlake's 17 minutes. Timberlake did have a 0 +/-, while Jackson was -13. Kansas really needs some more outside shooting and Timberlake is arguably their best option for that, so expect him to play a decent role this season whether he starts or not. The Jayhawks open the regular season on Nov. 6 against North Carolina Central.

Dajuan Harris - Dishes out eight assists Harris notched six points (2-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight assists, three rebounds, two seals, and a block in Sunday's exhibition loss to Illinois.
Impact Harris did a great job finding his teammates, but the Jayhawks need him to be more aggressive looking for his shot than his was in this game going forward. Harris has always been a pass-first point guard that plays great defense, but losing great offensive weapons like Jalen Wilson and Gradey Dick means Harris will need to be relied on to score more in 2023-24. Expect him to make the adjustment when the regular season starts Nov. 6 against North Carolina Central.

KJ Adams - 14 points against Illini Adams put up 14 points (6-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), four rebounds, and three assists in Sunday's exhibition loss to Illinois.
Impact Adams was just one of three Jayhawks in double figures along with Kevin McCullar (25 points) and Hunter Dickinson (22 points). Adams is playing a different position this season at power forward alongside the 7-2 Dickinson, so his game will need to keep evolving to make space on the interior on offense. Nevertheless, Adams will play a major role this season on how far Kansas goes.

Impact Jackson is a Top 25 recruit and has continued to get better over the summer foreign tour and in fall practices. It was thought that Towson transfer Nicolas Timberlake would have the inside track to start at shooting guard to begin the season, but Jackson's explosiveness and ball-handling could give the freshman the upper hand. Jackson didn't have his best performance in the exhibition game, but he will be a big part of the rotation this season for Kansas as he continues to get more comfortable with the college game.

Hunter Dickinson - 22 points in exhibition game Dickinson went for 22 points (9-20 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, and two blocks in Sunday's exhibition loss to Illinois.
Impact Dickinson and Kevin McCullar (25 points) carried a lot of the offensive load in this one. Dickinson has gotten to play a lot of ball with his new teammates over the course of the summer on the foreign tour and in fall practices, but should continue to get better as the season goes on. The Michigan transfer was named Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year and is deserving of a Top 5 selection in fantasy drafts.

Kevin McCullar - Leads Jayhawks in exhibition McCullar scored a team-high 25 points (9-14 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 5-9 FT) and added eight rebounds in Sunday's exhibition loss to Illinois.
Impact McCullar and new teammate Hunter Dickson each eclipsed 20 points, but it was not enough to take down the Illini. The talk all summer has been how much McCullar has improved on the offensive end. He will need to relied on for more than just his brilliant defense this season after the departures of Jalen Wilson and Gradey Dick. McCullar's ability to contribute across the board in 2023-24 is a reason why he deserves a selection in the first few rounds of fantasy leagues.
