Dealing with academic issue Johnson did not play in Sunday's season opener against Florida A&M due to "academic certification issues," Chip Towers of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Impact Johnson is the only widely-ranked recruit in the Georgia freshman class, and he also owns a consensus four-star rating. While he's a point guard by trade, the Bulldogs have Sahvir Wheeler on hand to man the position, so it's possible that when eligible, Johnson could see time at multiple spots in the backcourt. Coach Tom Crean remains optimistic that Johnson will eventually be available this season, and did clarify that this situation "is not an amateurism issue." With that in mind, it's likely prudent to consider Johnson questionable at best for Friday's contest against Jacksonville.
