Monster performance against NC State Lofton registered 36 points (14-19 FG, 8-11 FT), 18 rebounds, four assists and one steal over 33 minutes during Saturday's 90-81 loss to North Carolina State.
Impact Lofton has scored 12 or more points in each game this season and now finds himself in the midst of four consecutive double-doubles. Saturday was the best outing of his career, however, as the second-year forward set new personal bests in both scoring and rebounding. He drew the perfect matchup to be successful in the paint, as the Wolfpack simply don't have an answer down low following a season-ending shoulder injury to Manny Bates. In any case, a career day against a Power 5 opponent should set the stage for Lofton to become one of the most formidable fantasy assets in formats that include Conference USA.

Impact Lofton took on a major role down the stretch last season for the Bulldogs, starting the final 28 games and putting up a career-best 27 points in the NIT consolation victory. It seems he'll hang on to that starting role if the exhibition is any indication, plus the offense may run through him as the only LA Tech starter in double figures for the tune-up contest. He was joined in the starting five by Amorie Archibald, Isaiah Crawford, Cobe Williams and Exavian Christon. Still, Lofton and the Bulldogs have a challenging season opener ahead, as the Crimson Tide, while generally up-tempo, had one of the toughest defenses in the country a season ago.
