Achilles injury confirmed Coach Bill Self confirmed after Thursday's loss that Adams suffered an Achilles injury, Nicole Auerbach of NBC Sports reports.

Impact Self did not sound optimistic when talking about the injury. Adams left the game with a few minutes remaining and was helped back to the locker room. His collegiate career will come to a close in an extremely disappointing fashion.

Helped back to locker room Adams was helped back to the locker room with what appeared to be a left foot injury Thursday versus Arkansas, Jordan Guskey of The Topeka Capital-Journal reports.

Impact Adams was grabbing at the back of his lower left leg/foot area and needed the help of his teammates to get off the floor and back to the locker room. The injury occurred with just a few minutes remaining in the game and it seems unlikely he'll return. More on his injury should come to light following the conclusion of the contest.

Impact Adams continued his strong play, providing a strong defensive presence with three steals and three rejections to go along with his second performance which he's recorded at least 10 points, five boards and five assists. The senior forward saw his points-per-game dip below 10 this season after averaging double-figures during each of the previous two seasons. However, Adams has picked things up over the last five games, tallying 15.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.0 blocks and 0.8 steals. His resurgence bodes well for a Kansas squad looking to win its 13th Big 12 conference tournament.

Posts monster double-double Adams notched 21 points (10-12 FG, 1-1 FT), 13 rebounds and three assists across 37 minutes during Saturday's 78-73 loss to Texas Tech.

Impact Adams put together his first double-double of the season and the third of his career, the first time he's done so while scoring at least 20 points. The 13 rebounds were a career high for the senior forward, while his 21-point effort included shooting a highly-efficient 10-for-12 from the field. Adams has struggled this season, averaging 8.8 points and 4.8 rebounds after posting 12.6 points and 4.6 boards last season, but has now scored at least 15 in two-consecutive games including what was arguably the best performance of his career on Saturday.

Impact Adams tallied 15 points Monday, the most he's scored since totaling 22 against Furman on Nov. 30. It's been a disappointing season for the senior forward, who has seen his scoring drop from a career-high of 12.6 per game last season to just 8.3 this season despite starting 23 of the 25 games in which he has played.

Impact Adams missed three games in January with a shoulder injury, and in the two games since returning, he's combined for 18 points and 11 rebounds. He's came off the bench in both contests, however, with Flory Bidunga continuing to draw starts in the frontcourt for Kansas. Bidunga was limited to just two points in 15 minutes Saturday, which suggests a switch to the more versatile Adams could be forthcoming.

Impact Self told ESPN that Adams should resume ball shooting before February. The announcement indicates Adams will be out for Kansas' game Tuesday against Central Florida.

With Adams sidelined, AJ Storr is the presumed next man up for the Jayhawks.

Impact After getting limited to a season-low two points New Year's Eve against West Virginia, Adams bounced back to a degree by posting a season-best rebounding total. While his scoring has been a mixed bag this year, and is actually down to 8.6 ppg (from 12.6 ppg a season ago), the ancillary production remains enough to keep Adams on the fantasy radar.

Impact Adams logged 11 points in the loss to Missouri, but it was just the fourth time in nine game he's scored in double figures. His taking almost two shots fewer per-game than last season, and it's led to some uneven scoring. Adams has still been a valuable rebounder and shot-blocker, and he's reliable at the line as well. His scoring just hasn't been nearly as consistent.

Impact While Adams has started all five games at power forward for the Jayhawks, the same role he's had in each of the last two seasons, he's currently posting a three-year low in scoring and rebounding. It's still far too early for fantasy managers to panic, but Hunter Dickinson continues to dominate the post touches for Kansas, and the emergence of freshman Flory Bidunga also hasn't helped Adams' case.
