Likely done for season Lovering is expected to miss the remainder of the 2021-22 season due to an MCL injury, Pat Rooney of the Boulder Daily Camera reports. Impact Lovering had carved out a consistent bench role for the Buffs as a freshman this season, averaging 1.9 points and 1.9 rebounds over 10.6 minutes per game. The 7-foot-1 big man's absence the rest of the way will leave Colorado without some height off the bench, likely forcing the team to go with smaller lineups a bit more often. Evan Battey also could be in line for a minutes boost the rest of the way. Lovering's timetable is expected to be in the 6-to-8 week range, so a return late in the season is plausible should the Buffs still be in action. Lovering has played too much already to redshirt, so he will enter 2022-23 as a sophomore.
