Impact UConn barely squeezed out the win over the Bears, but McNeely's efforts on both sides of the ball factored greatly into the eventual four-point victory. The freshman forward led the Huskies in points, rebounds and blocks, logging a season-high three blocks. He now is averaging 13 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists across nine games this campaign.

Drops double-double in blowout McNeeley closed with 18 points (6-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-6 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and one steal in 27 minutes during Wednesday's 92-56 win over Sacred Heart.
Impact McNeeley headed into the season-opener likely to play, but his linger calf injury did raise some questions about his availability. The freshman forward didn't seem to have many problems with the injury; though, as he dropped a solid 18 points and 10 rebounds to get a double-double in his first collegiate appearance. He'll look to keep the momentum going against some lower-ranked opponents in the coming weeks.

Impact According to David Borges of CT Insider, McNeeley suffered a calf strain during Connecticut's team practice Thursday. He was given a two-week timetable then, which sets him up perfectly to potentially return before the 2024-25 Huskies begin their regular season against Sacred Heart on Nov. 6. They have no more preseason games before then, but the freshman did log 10 points in an earlier exhibition against Rhode Island, so perhaps he could be well-adjusted if available.
