While enrolled at Connecticut, he won the Big East Freshman of the Year Award. For 27 games (26 starts), McNeeley averaged 14.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.9 turnovers. The freshman's most recognizable flaw is shot efficiency, indicated by his 38.1 field goal percentage and 31.7 three-point percentage. However, McNeeley also logged an 86.6 free-throw percentage, and his shooting splits are not so bad that he drops far beyond a lottery pick.
