Darius McGhee - MVP in Diamond ClassicMcGhee had 29 points (9-19 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 7-8 FT) and five assists across 37 minutes in Saturday's 80-75 loss to BYU.
ImpactWhile the Flames came up short in the third-place game, McGhee was easily the most outstanding player of the tournament, as this performance followed up a 41-point effort against Stanford. McGhee has been on absolute fire of late, averaging 27.3 ppg over his last six contests. On the season, he's averaging 21.9 ppg, which is good four fourth in the nation entering Monday's slate of games. Should the Flames manage another NCAA Tournament bid, McGhee is a veteran player capable of catching fire and single-handedly sparking an upset.
