Using medical redshirt in 2020-21 Jacobs (knee) indicated on his personal Twitter account that he will use a medical redshirt for the 2020-21 season.

Impact Jacobs would presumably get a free season of eligibility either way via the NCAA's decision to grant it to every player for this season, so Jacobs should return next year as a sophomore with three seasons of eligibility remaining. He has not seen action yet in his brief collegiate career.

Still tending to knee injury Jacobs continues to recover from a torn ACL suffered last March, Shannon Ryan of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Impact It's not too surprising Jacobs sat out the opener, as he originally revealed that he had sustained the injury March 9, giving him less than 10 months of recovery time. There hasn't been any further information released regarding a recovery timetable, nor if the sophomore intends to return this season. Jacobs saw action in 21 games last season in a reserve capacity, putting up 3.2 points across 9.3 minutes.
