Eric Ayala - Productive in opener Ayala provided 13 points (4-12 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-4 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and one steal across 27 minutes during Tuesday's 83-69 win over Quinnipiac. Impact After declaring for the NBA over the offseason but ultimately deciding to return to Maryland, Ayala is already off to a great start to his season. He still had a productive day despite all Maryland starters being a bit limited due to game flow, and it's noteworthy he attempted more shots than any other Terrapins player. The eight boards are also a nice touch after the 6-5 wing pulled down 4.3 rebounds per contest a season ago. The four-year starter has the makings of a sleeper all-Big Ten team candidate.
