Impact Mayer's 14 points were a team high, but he was one of five Bears to score in double figures. Mayer offers a lot of versatility to play different positions and to score inside and out. He only played 21 minutes on Friday, but should see more action as Baylor starts to get to tougher opponents.

Impact This made sense for Mayer to return to Baylor. He has been a nice asset off the bench his first three seasons, but with Jared Butler, Davion Mitchell, and MaCio Teague all moving onto the next level, the Bears will need Mayer to produce offensively. He could have potentially been a second round pick if he came out this year, but a strong senior season could push him up the board.

Impact Mayer's 18 points were a season high for the junior. The junior has been mostly a luxury this season with Baylor's strong depth, but he has shown capable of lighting a spark off the bench when his team needs it. Over his last six games, Mayer is averaging 8.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 1.5 three-pointers in 15.5 minutes per contest. He should be in for a very productive senior season when some of those above him on the depth chart depart. Baylor will be back at it on Thursday against Oklahoma State.
