Making first career start Mag will start Thursday's game against Purdue.

Impact Mag has been playing reasonably well of late, posting eight points and two boards over just 15 minutes against Illinois in the team's last game. He will be rewarded with a start as a result, marking his first at the collegiate level. Jaden Jones will move to the bench in a corresponding move.

Depth role in 2021-22 debut Mag notched zero points (0-1 FG), two rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal over 13 minutes during Saturday's 48-35 win over Merrimack.

Impact Mag was limited to a depth role during his first season with the Scarlet Knights, and it doesn't appear that much has changed despite being cleared to suit up. He'll at least bring some size to the lineup at small forward when called upon in non-conference play, but the minutes may be at risk once the rotation tightens up.

Impact Mag didn't play in the opener against Lehigh, but he will be available to feature in this one to make his season debut. He averaged just 2.0 points and 1.1 rebounds per game in 2020-21, though, so his presence is not likely to have a big impact on most fantasy rosters.

Impact He'll be sidelined for a third straight game due to a sprained ankle. Prior to the injury, Mag had played a minor role on the Scarlet Knights' second unit, averaging 3.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 11.8 minutes per game over four appearances.

Impact Despite missing Rutgers' previous two games, head coach Steve Pikiell didn't sound too concerned about Mag's injury stating after Sunday's big win over Illinois that the freshman forward will be fine and just has to go through the proper rehab before he's cleared to return. Rutgers next plays against Ohio State on Wednesday which will give Mag a few more days to heal up.
