DeAndre Williams - Efficient despite less minutes Williams produced 16 points (6-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 10 rebounds and one steal in 25 minutes during Wednesday's 69-61 win over Virginia Tech. Impact Williams is an Evansville transfer who decided to stick around this season with the Tigers despite a big new influx of talent via recruiting and the transfer market. He's managed to hang on to his starting spot despite several other suitors, and while the production has dropped off a bit, he's still posting 10. 6 points and 5.0 rebounds -- similar to last years numbers despite nearly eight fewer minutes per contest. At this point, the bigger threats to his playing time has been foul trouble and lopsided contests. The latter shouldn't be a major issue in the immediate future, however, as Memphis plays five of its next six non-conference games against power-conference opponents.
