Impact Nolley is making a strong case to return to the starting lineup, as he has scored 23 points off the bench in each of his last two contests. It remains to be seen whether he'll start Tuesday against Mississippi Valley State, but he is doing enough to recover his spot on the wing. He has scored more than 20 points in three of his last four appearances.

Impact According to Jason Munz of The Memphis Commercial Appeal, Nolley was not in the starting lineup due to disciplinary reasons, but coach Penny Hardaway suggested he'll return to the starting five soon. Whether that comes Friday against Central Arkansas remains to be seen, but the discipline here certainly isn't affecting his opportunities. He was the team's leading reserve and had the third-highest minutes total of the afternoon, plus he got up six more shots than any other teammate.

Impact Nolley scored 11 points in the season but followed it up with a strong scoring performance. He's not strange to topping the 20-point plateau, though, as he scored more than 20 points nine times during the 2019-20 season. Nolley should remain one of Memphis' biggest scoring threats going forward, with the team playing next against Arkansas State on Dec. 2.

Impact According to the report, only one Memphis player (Ahmad Rand) did not travel with the team, while "everyone else" -- with the exception of DeAndre Williams (waiver) -- will be available for the opener. Effectively, it doesn't appear the knee injury which cut Jeffries' freshman season short after 19 games has carried into the 2020-21 campaign. After taking a look at the NBA but ultimately deciding to return to school, Jeffries is expected to start at power forward for the Tigers and build off averages of 10.8 points and 4.3 rebounds from a season ago.
