Impact Williams, a highly regarded recruit in Memphis' 2023 signing class, has been ordered to appear in court Friday in El Cajon, Calif. for arraignment on nine total charges related to the March 27 incident. He originally was charged with five counts of assault with a weapon and one count of firing into an occupied vehicle, which would carry a sentence of 28 years in prison if convicted on all counts. The three new charges would each carry eight additional months of prison time. Williams remains enrolled at Memphis but isn't able to access team facilities or activities, with his status with the program to be determined once his court case is resolved. With the Tigers' season beginning Nov. 6, Williams appears set to miss the start of his freshman campaign, if not the entirety of it.
