Dawson Garcia - Undergoes foot surgery Garcia (foot) underwent successful foot surgery and is slated for a return to the court in September, per Andy Greder of the Twin Cities Pioneer Press.
Impact Garcia suffered the injury during a July practice and underwent successful surgery shortly after. The six-foot-11 All-Big Ten forward is currently slated to return to the Golden Gophers in September and should be ready to go for the upcoming season.

Impact This is the best news Minnesota's basketball team could have received about one of its players enrolling at the school again. After all, Garcia was the Gophers' leading rebounder and scorer for a second straight season. Both times, he averaged 6.7 rebounds across more than 25 games. Where the big man mostly improved was his scoring. As a redshirt junior, he averaged 17.6 points on a 48.6 field goal percentage and an 80.2 free throw percentage. Garcia's scoring improvement helped him earn a selection to the All-Big Ten Third Team.
