Colby Jones - Versatile against PittsburghJones ended with 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), 14 rebounds, seven assists and one block in 37 minutes during Sunday's 84-73 victory over Pittsburgh.
ImpactIncluding the double-double, Jones was Xavier's best distributor against a Pittsburgh team that previously upset Iowa State. Points and rebounds are not expected to be a problem for him. Across his first seven games of March, Jones averaged 16.3 points and 8.3 rebounds. Though unlikely, if he can continue distributing well alongside his scoring and rebounding, that will greatly improve Xavier's tournament chances and his stock as a pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. There is a chance Jones could, as his assist average was 5.7 across the 2022-23 Musketeers' first 15 games.
