ImpactMorsell's 21 points were good enough for a career-best performance, but he starred on defense. The reigning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year helped hold the opposing SIU-Edwardsville guards to just 2-14 on three-point attempts. The transfer expected a larger scoring role in Marquette and this performance is a clear step up from his nine points per game last season with Maryland.

ImpactLewis was brilliant on defense recording 10 defensive rebounds, and his ability to finish in the paint was on full display when he cooked defenders on three monster dunks. He has certainly gained a step from last season where he averaged 7.8 points and 5.4 rebounds. He hasn't recorded this many 3-point attempts since January last season, hinting at a larger role on offense for the redshirt freshman.
