Impact Burnett is a Texas Tech transfer who is coming off a knee injury that cost him the entirety of the 2021-22 campaign, but he was thought to be fully recovered due to the fact he participated -- and played well -- in the team's overseas exhibition series this past August. It's possible that this was just a rest day, or that coach Nate Oats has seen what he needs to see from Burnett, who is projected to land a spot in the starting five. In any case, the Tide have an official exhibition matchup coming up Oct. 29 against Southern Illinois, and Burnett's presence there should be a good indication he's clear for the start of the year.
