Impact There aren't many more fantasy-friendly lines that this, as the 5-foot-11 guard did a bit of everything here. He's a surprisingly consistent rebounder for his size, averaging 5.1 per game, and is enjoying a nice breakout sophomore campaign, adding 12.4 ppg, 5.7 apg and 2.1 spg to date.

Impact Fernandes played a whopping 46 minutes in the double-overtime contest. The 5-foot-11 guard has somehow grabbed five-plus rebounds in three of his last four, but the work on the glass and the block shots aren't sustainable. Still, he's enjoying a breakout season after transferring in from Wichita, averaging 12.8 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 5.6 apg and 2.2 spg while playing 31.2 minutes.

Impact Fernandes entered the contest with six assists and two steals total in his first two games of the season. As such, treating this as a blip on the radar thanks to an overmatched opponent makes sense. But it's equally hard to ignore that secondary stat explosion, firmly putting Fernandes on watch lists as a result.

Waiver request approved Massachusetts announced Wednesday that Fernandes received a waiver from the NCAA, making him eligible to compete immediately for the Minutemen.
Impact Fernandes was part of a mass exodus from the Wichita State program this offseason. He entered the transfer portal shortly after the 2019-20 season was cancelled in mid-March and quickly found a new home at UMass, where he should immediately become the top challenger for the starting point guard job. As a true freshman on a veteran-laden Shockers squad last season, Fernandes appeared in 21 games (three starts) and averaged 1.4 points, 1.2 assists and 0.8 boards in 9.8 minutes per contest. He'll have three years of eligibility remaining at UMass.
